If you are looking for a sophisticated and timeless neutral, can I suggest you look at grey.
As grey is at the mid point between black and white, it is a balanced colour to work with. It therefore creates a sense of calm and evokes a quiet almost intellectual quality to a room.
You may like to look at areas that you would traditionally have used white but instead opt for a soft pale grey. You may also want to team up a pale grey such as “Journalist’s tipple” with a pale colour such as “Bubble green” for an elegant, fresh feel.
Alternatively, by using a dark grey, perhaps one from our Gothic range such as “Egyptian night” and teaming it up with a strong chromatic colour such as “Shepherd’s Shirt” or “Venetian Velvet” you will create a rich, mysterious, atmospheric room.
Grey can also be used to “tame” colours or to “cool” down hot ones so although you may have thought of grey as boring or dull, in fact it allows you to use a massive spectrum of colours that you would otherwise been unable to use.
If you need any advise selecting the perfect grey, please let us know as we have many, many to choose from!
