You are looking for a colour to paint your room but don’t know where to start?

It can be very helpful to find an object, whether it’s a vase, a painting or a cushion that really appeals to you and pick out the colours from it to determine your scheme. This will give you a great starting point for choosing the paint colours in a room.

Artist, Helen Yardley , has created a series of interesting rugs and wall hangings in the most enticing colour combinations.

Above is one of Helen Yardley’s wall hangings, “Curved Air” – a perfect addition to a neutral room adding interesting blues and ochres. It is a piece of art that would sit very well with any of liquidimagination’s neutral hues in the Dadaist, Rococo, and Pointillist collection.

Rugs and textiles of course have the added attraction of adding texture, depth and warmth to a room. They can also soften acoustic levels – particularly if you have several hard surfaces such as a timber floor or large windows.

Whether you are wanting to create a theatrical gash of colour or unify a collection of neutrals a rug may be the answer you are looking for.
