White Out

As we find ourselves surrounded by a rather beautiful blanket of snow, it seems fitting to look at the elegance of white interiors.

It is easy to see the unifying effect a layer of white snow has on the landscape so uplift a dingy interior with fresh white paint and you will create a larger, brighter, peaceful space. However, choose your shade of white carefully as some brilliant white paints contain underlying blue tones which can make your interior look stark. One of Valtti's most successful whites is "Wedding Shawl" from the Rococo range, a sophisticated white which has the look and depth of a mound of unrefined icing sugar. You could also look at "Concrete mixer" from the Dadaist range - a good contemporary white which works well next to soft greys.

If you plan to create a full "white out" interior, bring some old furniture back to life with Valtti's Furniture Paint or tie the room together by painting the floor in our new quick drying, waterborne Floor Paint.

White is of course a great canvas on which to introduce virtually any other accent colour, in fact as Leonardo da Vinci said, "For those colours you wish to be beautiful, always first prepare a pure white ground"
