Have you ever noticed the importance of the humble circle in design? From stone circles in neolithic times to Sir Terry Frost's "Orchard Tambourines" we seem to have an innate fascination for the shape. It's also the first shape a toddler will draw no matter what part of the world they come from.

Every style magazine you pick up at the moment is telling us, the colour of the moment is green. They say we crave green due to its connotations with Spring, new growth, nature and balance.

If you look at the new products emerging from leading furniture manufacturers such as Driade, Cappellini, Moroso, Artifort, Kartell they are all showing lots of pure white (which will be great used in interiors with a spike of strong colour) and lots of orange, fushia, lime . . .
Calling all split level, open plan, 1960 & 70's enthusiasts!

You have designed your home with Tracy Island / James Bond in mind but you cant find a telephone to compliment the scheme. Your interior is peppered with Castiglione's lamps (such as Arco - featured in Diamonds are Forever, The Italian Job etc), Eames chairs, Robin Day sofas. Fear not!

I think its safe to say we all love maps. Is it the romanicism of mysterious and unfamiliar countries we like to gaze at on a map or is it just that we like to understand our global position in the scheme of things?

Inspiration from 1950's Childrens books including Moomintroll by the Finnish Tove Jansson. During times of instability and uncertainty we seem to balance ourself with a nostalgic look back at childhood.
