Mirror mirror

If you find yourself in Cheshire this summer, I would suggest you include a visit to Tatton Park

You will be aware of the powers well positioned mirrors have in your home creating illusions of space and light but venture into a room at Tatton Park and you will transfixed by a collaborative installation of mirrors by Sophie Lascelles, Tony Grisoni and Oona Grimes.

The trio have created a work entitled, “A Confusion of Mirrors” which is a multimedia installation of slide projections, drawings, lenses and mirrors in three private rooms at the mansion. The work concentrates variously on Maurice, last Lord Egerton of Tatton’s relationship with his mother, obsession with radio and film: memory, mirrors and ghosts.

A stunning installation and a testament to the power of reflected light, images and space.
