Cleaning paint rollers
Always buy the best quality paint rollers you can afford and look after them well.
Check on the paint tin what kind of solvent is needed to clean your rollers. Emulsion and acrylic paints only need plenty of water. Other paints may need white spirit to get them clean.
Cleaning a paint roller:
- Run the roller over the ribbed part of the paint tray
- Run the roller over old newspapers
- Try to remove as much excess paint as possible
- Remove roller sleeve if possible
- Wash under running water
- Work the paint out with your hands.
