Painting woodwork
Remember, if you are redecorating a whole room you should have painted the ceiling and walls before starting on the woodwork.

Before you start
You should also have completed your preparation before you began painting the other surfaces.
- Sand wood smooth
- Fill any holes
- Sand flat any filler
- Apply a coat of knotting to any resinous areas (new timber only)
- Flat down any previously painted surfaces with a light sand
Painting woodwork
- Apply a coat of Feelings Furniture Primer
- Very lightly sand over newly primed areas to remove any rough patches
- Paint with a colour of your choice
- Use a brush appropriate to the size of the surface
TIP – with waterborne products it is always better to use a nylon polyester brush, the water in the product does not soak up into the bristles as with a normal brush, so you get a much smoother finish.
